JAMES MICHAEL LARUE - Died at his residence in Winona Tuesday morning the 10th, principally from infirmities of old age, he having been in the neighborhood of a hundred years of age, according to the best records the family had. (NOTE: (NMS) He was actually 80 years old, born Aug. 15, 1843 in Ohio.) 'Uncle Jim', as he was familiarly known, had been a familiar figure around Winona ever since this was a town, as he helped to saw logs for the first lumber manufactured at Winona. He is survived by his wife, six daughters and two sons and numerous grandchildren who mourn his loss. The remains were laid to rest in the old cemetery. (Baptist Hill Cemetery on Trace Pond Hill, a/k/a Old Baptist Cemetery).

Married 2nd. 22 Jan. 1918, Florence Geretta (Julian) Myers, (mother of Homer, married Suda Mae Rayfield, Jim, married Jane Estill, Dennis, married Lorene Atkins, and Jack Myers, married Geneva VanWinkle). Florence was born 03 Sept. 1882 and died 20 Feb. 1939, buried at Munsell Cemetery. Together they had 3 sons; Silas, married Florene Pruitt, Luther, married Ruby Hicks, and Gene Sanders, married Ruby Pruitt.
