WILDERNESS CEMETERY

 

 Located at Wilderness, MO in northeast Oregon County.  From From Fremont, Carter County go south on Hwy J to Hwy K; then southwest to Wilderness.
County Rd 154 east. Sec. 32, Twp. 25, R.2W (King Twp). From Alton, MO go north on Hwy 19 about 9 miles to CR 154, go east (right) to CR 158, turn right and go to Hwy K.

Collins, John Hardy        Died 17 Dec 1918.     MO Death Cert.#44942B lists age about 80 years. Died at Johnson Twp in Carter County. Informant Andrew Ward of Ellsinore had not other information. Lists burial at Kassinger Cemetery on Dec. 18th.

Collins, Nancy Ann Freeman     25 Feb 1885 - 27 Apr 1945.     MO Death Cert.#17925 lists father as William Freeman (born in NC) and ____ Evans (born TN). She died at Doniphan in Williams Hospital. Informant was Charles E. Collins of Fremont. Died from complications of a fall off the porch wherein she broke her hip, accident occurred on April 2nd.

Married 1st Nancy Unknown; children William, Thomas, Levi, Martha J., Henry & James F. Dobbs. Married 2nd Artamincia Freeman 15 Jan 1859 Randolph Co AR. Children Andrew J., Marcillus 'Marshall' Moss & Wesley J. (or John Wesley). He married 3rd Malinda McElmurry Wheeler, widow of B. F. Wheeler. Daughter Julia M. Dobbs (m. William Foster Hunt).  He married 4th Mary Ann Harris Hollis (widow), 20 May 1886 Oregon Co MO. No children. Civil War, Fristoe's Reg't MO Cav.; Mexican War (per pension record).
