IN MEMORY
In writing this notice we are forcibly reminded of the uncertainty
of life. A short time since we had with us the darling little Walter
Chilton, in the full enjoyment of life and health and with the
promise of intelligence far above the common order, and to society
one who promised to be one of its brightest ornaments. But God has
taken him, blessed thought!, in His protecting care, with angels for
his only companions, and free forever from the trials and
temptations that would have assailed him in this world. Sweet, happy
child, farewell! But he can never be obliterated from our memory,
though with us so short a time.
