CMSgt Norman 'Houston' 'WILLIE' Williams - United States Air Force (Ret.), went to be with the Lord August 10, 2009, in San Antonio, Texas. Willie was 80 years old, born on May 30, 1929, in New Liberty Missouri. In 1946 he joined the Army Air Corps. After training he was shipped directly overseas where he was assigned to The Headquarters Pacific Air Command in Tokyo, Japan. Throughout his military career he traveled to many states throughout the US and other countries including Germany, Thailand, Portugal, Morocco, Vietnam and Korea, just to name a few. CMSgt served in three wars including WWII, Korean and the Vietnam War. While stationed in Dover, Delaware he earned his FAA Certification for Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics. He enrolled in college courses through the Air Force Education Institute and maintained many types of aircraft form Prop-driven to Mach II Jets. Each aircraft he worked on required extra training and certification. After serving 24 years, Willie retired as a Chief Master Sergeant. He then began a career working for the United States Postal Service. He took another retirement there and began attending as a fulltime student at Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he completed a Bachelors degree in Aviation Management. Willie served two volunteer tours in the Mission Service Corps, working in outreach ministry. He was then accepted into the Accredited Clinical Pastoral Education Program at Scott & White Hospital where he became part of their staff as a certified hospital chaplain. Willie spent the last 13 years in San Antonio, Texas. CMSgt Williams is survived by his wife of 35 years, Glenda Williams; 4 children, Ron Williams in Alabama, Jerry Williams in Kansas, Jonathan Williams in San Antonio, and Robin K. Williams in San Antonio; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Williams, Jessica Williams, Jerry Ray Williams in Kansas, Dylan Williams in Alabama, Charlotte and Eva Williams in San Antonio and Regan, Rilie, Remington, Rhenden and River Williams in San Antonio; and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

NOTE: Known locally as Houston Williams, he was the son of Clyde Harvey Williams and Eva E. Allmon. He is also survived by two sisters, Geneva Lockman, Winona, and Nona Susan Williams, of the state of California. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Martha Ann Williams. He was the grandson of Ira Moss Williams & Catherine 'Kitty' Harrod, and Abraham J. Hiebert and Susannah Ratzlaff.
