LARRY DAVID VOYLES - Born on June 21, 1941, in Winona, Missouri, to Vane Vester and Macie Frieda (Atkins) Voyles. He departed this life on April 23, 2006, at Cox South in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 64 years, 10 months, and 2 days. He was united in marriage to Ella Faye Douglas on November 3, 1958, at Bartlett, Missouri by Preacher Pete Neal, and to this union were born three children: Guyla Justine on October 19, 1959, David Montgomery (Monte) on May 2, 1962, and Mark Ryan on September 4, 1965. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Vane Vester and Macie Frieda (Atkins) Voyles; two brothers, Ronnie Voyles and Douglas Voyles; tow nieces; Jessica Voyles and Kimmie Shelton; and one nephew, Denny Voyles. He is survived by his wife, Faye, of Winona; his three children; Guyla, of St. Louis, Missouri, Monte and wife Dawn of Winona, Missouri, and Mark and wife Kelly of Winona, Missouri; four siblings; Stanley Voyles and friend Sharon McGhee, Elaine Wratten and husband Dale of Prineville, Oregon; Gordon Voyles and wife Lynn, of Winona, Missouri; and Kevin Voyles and wife Regina of Winona, Missouri; twelve grandchildren: Amy Dyer and husband Anthony, of Perryville, Missouri; Jaime Sutton and husband Matthew of Sikeston, Missouri; Courtney McDaniel and husband Jason of Mountain View, Missouri; Caleb Voyles and wife Christy of Birch Tree, Missouri; Nathan Martin of St. Louis, Missouri; Stephan Voyles and wife Delhia of Winona, Missouri; Brandon Voyles of Winona, Missouri; Christopher Jennewein of St. Louis, Missouri; Ryan Voyles, Tanner Voyles, Tyler Voyles and Braydon Voyles all of Winona, Missouri; and eleven great-grandchildren: Trextin Brrentley Andrew Martin, Ryleigh Grace Davis, Blakelee Carter Sutton, Koleman Wayne McDaniel, Karson Montgomery McDaniel, Colton Montgomery Voyles, Madison Faith Sutton, Jackson Kenley Dyer, Carter Nicholas Dee Voyles, Brady Drew Sutton, and Kallee Faye McDaniel; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Larry worked with wood all of his life. He co-owned and operated Voyles Pallet Mill in Winona, Missouri from 1966 to 1985. Later, he and his son Mark owned and operated Voyles Construction in Winona, Missouri where they built and renovated homes for people in and around Winona. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, baptized and confirmed in August 1949 by clergyman King E. Beagley. He was ordained a deacon in the Aaronic Priesthood in the Church of Latter-day Saints on December 1, 1957, by Elder Clarence Cain in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He enjoyed bluegrass music and liked to work in the yard with his wife planting flowers and doing landscaping projects. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, were all the 'apple of his eye'. Our favorite memories of Pop playing with the kids; he sure did love them so. His smile and laughter will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at the Winona Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jim Eskew officiating. Interment was at Pleasant Site on P Highway in Fremont under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Winona.
