Frank Edward  'JUNIOR' Stearns - Born May 23, 1951 at Granite City, IL the son of Frank Edward Stearns and Bessie Jerlin (Haynes) Stearns. He passed away January 22, 2008 at Winona, MO at the age of 56 years. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Vermillion in 1972, to this union one daughter, Karen, was born. Later, he was united in marriage to Shirley Goforth on May 10, 1991. After her passing, he later married Mavis McIntire on May 16, 2005 at Piggott, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Bessie Stearns; and his first wife Shirley Stearns. Junior is survived by his wife Mavis Stearns of Winona, MO; two sons Andrew Phillips of Winona, MO and Jerry Hanger and wife Valerie of Winona, MO; two daughters Jimalee Sartin and husband Mark of Winona, MO and Karen Michelle Stearns of Austin, TX; six grandchildren Brandi Black and husband Chris, Toni Sartin, Melissa Farris and husband Steven, Sammie Jo Hanger, Jacob Hanger and McKenzie Pryor; three great grandchildren Victoria Qualls, J. Douglas Qualls IV, and Kelton Sartin; one sister Carol Lee Dillon and husband Roger of Eminence, MO; his mother-in-law Betty McIntire of Winona, MO; one nephew Larry Phipps and wife Gayla of Winona, MO; one niece Stacy Barnes and husband Bobbie of Mountain View, MO; and a host of other family and friends. Junior attended Winona Elementary School and graduated from Winona High School in 1969. He entered the United States Navy on May 27, 1969 and was honorably discharged on November 1, 1972. Junior was a craftsman and worked in Texas in construction, roofing and the oil fields. In 1999 he bought Miley Hardware in Winona which he renamed Jacob's Hardware and continued to operate until his time of death. He was a bail bondsman and ran the local U-Haul Rental in Shannon County, MO. Junior entered as an apprentice in the Eminence Masonic Lodge #607 on December 2, 1999 and passed to the Degree of Fellowcraft on January 6, 2000. He was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on March 2, 2000. He joined the Shriners on April 30, 2001. Junior became the Worshipful Master of Eminence Lodge #607 on May 20, 2004 and became affiliated to the Woodside Lodge #387 in Thomasville, MO on February 15, 2006. Junior was well known in the area for always helping anyone who needed help. He sat most of the Veteran's Monuments in the Shannon County area. Junior volunteered his time and expense in doing this as a tribute to the families of the Veterans. He loved to go fishing with Mavis, Andrew and Jacob. Junior loved to spend time with his animals. He loved his family and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services were held Monday, January 28, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Winona, MO with Darrell Derryberry officiating. Interment was in the Zion Cemetery in Winona, MO under the Direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Winona, MO.
