Thelma 'Geneva' Van Winkle Myers - Born July 19, 1918 in Shannon County, MO the daughter of William Thomas Van Winkle and Ruth Belle (LaRue) Van Winkle. She passed away March 20, 2008 at Mountain View, MO at the age of 89 years, 8 months and 1 day. She was united in marriage to Woodrow 'Jackson' Myers on June 13, 1936 at Eminence, MO and to this union four children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Ruth Van Winkle; her husband Woodrow 'Jackson' Myers; one brother Harold Van Winkle and one sister Wilma York. She is survived by one son Jay Woodrow Myers and wife Teresa of Dittmer, MO; three daughters Deanna J. Freese and husband Artford W. of Williamsburg, VA, Dixie C. Nichols and husband Granville N. of Winona, MO, and Jacqueline R. 'Jackie' Weaver and husband Walter F. Red Weaver of Foristell, MO; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Geneva retired from Paramount Cap Factory in Winona, MO after many years of employment. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Winona, MO where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She enjoyed making crafts, quilting and baking cookies and making candy. She loved flowers and always enjoyed working in her flower garden. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services were held Monday, March 24, 2008 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Winona, MO with Rev. Walt Weaver, Jr. officiating. Interment was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Winona, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Winona, MO.
