HERALD F. DEWEESE - Born Aug. 12, 1907 at Eminence, the son of Henry B. DeWeese & Ida Powell. He passed away at the age of 88 years in Owosso MI on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 7, 1995, at Ovid Healthcare Center. Herald resided in Missouri until 1934, then moved to the Owosso MI area. After 1975 he lived at Eminence and Owosso MI. He married Nell Parker on May 4, 1929 at Eminence. She passed away May 5, 1975. He then married Myrtle Reary on Nov. 15, 1975 at Eminence. Herald was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and the founder of the West Eminence Christian Church in 1930. He received a commendation from the Missouri Legislature honoring him for 55 years of pastoral work. He graduated from Winona High School and the State Teacher's College at Cape Girardeau MO. He was minister at West Owosso Church of Christ at the time of his death and was a teacher and tool engineer. Herald was preceded in death by his son David in 1957; his parents, Henry & Ida and  his first wife Nell in 1975. He is survived by his wife Myrtle DeWeese of Owosso; son Norman DeWeese, Owosso, and daughter Wanda N. Willison, Stanton MI. Visitation was Wednesday, 7 - 9, Thursday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Funeral services were held at Jennings-Lyons Chapel on Friday at 1 pm with Pastor John Scott officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Owosso Church of Christ.
