NOTE: 'I have visited the cemetery and seen the headstone. I have thought for may years it was the grave site of my grand uncle that was born in Michigan, the son of Henry R. Day and Lucia (Coryell) Day and thus the brother of my grandfather John R. Day.  John R. Day was also born in Michigan in 1863.  John R. Day, my father Dr. Ralph W. Day (dentist) and I lived for many years in Summersville, Texas County, Mo.
I have no proof that this is my grand-uncle other that my parents (Dr. Ralph Day) told me that James had moved to Missouri when young and liked it there so he stayed. As I recall, to the best of my memory (I am 82 years old) they said he was buried at Alley Springs. And  also, I think they said that my father and grandfather added the headstone some time after his death. Cause of death -- I never heard. I realize this is not much substantiation and only adds to the mystery.' ~ Ralph Day, Bella Vista, Arkansas  rwdaday@cox.net
