Location: West from Winona, MO., City limits on US Hwy 60 2.1 miles, turn left (south) on Shannon Co., road 609, 2 miles. Cemetery is on the right, 50 feet from road on the farm where Tom Smotherman now lives. Easily seen and accessed from County Road 609.

Cooper, George Washington     27 Nov 1841 - 27 Jun 1924.      Son of Joseph Cooper (SC) & Nancy M. Davis of Wayne Co TN. Born at Waynesboro Wayne Co TN; died at Winona Shannon Co MO. Civil War, Co. B, 7th Cav. U.S.A. Capt. Joseph Tackett's Company. (Served with William M. 'Bill' Barkley, also from Wayne Co TN, also relocated to Winona).
Cooper, Martha Jane 'Mattie' McFall     29 Jul 1847 - 11 Jan 1921. Born Wayne Co TN; died at Winona Shannon Co MO. Daughter of Samuel David McFall (Wayne Co TN) & Sarah Lovina 'Tursey' Faires (Wayne Co TN). Parents of George K. Cooper; Amanda E. (Mrs. Samuel Garland Betterton); Samuel Joseph Cooper; William Elias 'Loss' Cooper (m. 1st Mary B. Golenor, m. 2nd Dovie Williams); Vina A. (m. J. M. Brown); James M. Cooper (m. Lucy Leanner 'Lee' Bramhall); Leander Burr 'Lee' Cooper (m. Nora 'Grace' Higdon); Willie W. Cooper; Hettie J. (m. Fred O. Brown) and William 'Irvin' Cooper (m. Lydia Ava Harrod).

At one time they lived in the state of Oregon. She as living in Winona in 1961, age 90. Her children were Henry, Ida, Walter M., Amelia and Nellie M. Betterton.

Cooper, George K.     04 Dec 1869 - 01 Mar 1893. Born in Wayne Co TN; died at Winona Shannon Co MO. Served alongside his father in the Civil War, Pvt. Co. B, 7th Cav. U.S.A. Capt. Joseph Tackett's Company. Never married.

Cooper, Leander Burr 'Lee'     03 Feb 1881 - 15 Jan 1921. Born in Wayne Co TN; died at Winona Shannon Co MO. Married Nora Grace Higdon 20 Oct 1906 Shannon Co MO. US Army, WWI.

Cooper, Samuel Joseph     25 Aug 1873 - 23 Nov 1953. Born in Wayne Co TN; died at Winona Shannon Co MO. Served in the US Army as a motorman, stationed at Fort Worth TX.

Cooper, William 'Irvin'     27 May 1892 - Aug 1964. Born at Winona Shannon Co MO; died at Salem Dent Co MO. Married Lydia Ava Harrod 23 Aug 1913 Shannon Co MO. Father of Milton K. Cooper & Mary Katherine Cooper.
