OBITUARY:
DOVIE WILLIAMS COOPER - Born Apr. 11, 1890, daughter of David and Mary Williams, near Winona MO in the Sycamore Community. She departed this life May 5 1964 at the age of 74 years, following a lingering illness. She was united in marriage to William E. Cooper on Mar. 6, 1917. Dovie accepted Christ and was baptized as a young woman and her life was proof of her faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, three sisters and two brothers. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and a daughter, Eva, of the home; one brother, R. V. Williams of Winona; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Friday, May 8, at 2 p.m. at the Winona Methodist Church with Rev. James Wingo and Rev. Earl Sigler officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of the Duncan Funeral Home. Out of town relatives here for the services included Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Pyrtle, Granite City IL; Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Price, Fort Worth TX; Mrs. R. W. Tohline, Bridgeton MO; Mr. and Mrs. Dave Norton, Saint Louis MO; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Brown, Mountain View MO; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Brown, Birch Tree MO; Mr. and Mrs. Fred O. Brown and family, Buckner MO, and Mr. and Mrs. Arch Cooper, Venice IL.
